Welcome to Dr. Sudip Jana's homepage:
Dr. Jana is a theoretical particle physicist, currently a postdoctoral research associate at Max-Planck-Institut für Kernphysik in Germany. He has authored 71 research publications in peer-reviewed international journals with more than 3500 citations. He earned his B.Sc. Physics (Hons.) degree in 2013 from the University of Calcutta, and his M.Sc. degree in 2015 from the Indian Institute of Technology in India. He did his doctoral work in physics at Oklahoma State University in the USA under the supervision of Regents. Prof. K.S. Babu. From 2017 to 2019, he was a visiting scientist at Fermi National Accelerator Lab in the USA. In 2019, he was also a visiting researcher at Washington University in St. Louis, USA, under the ``Neutrino Theory Network (NTN)" program. He received his Ph.D. in 2019 in the area of theoretical high energy physics for his research on "Neutrino and Higgs Physics: Road-Map to Discovery for New Physics Beyond the Standard Model." Dr. Jana joined Max-Planck-Institut für Kernphysik in Germany as a Postdoctoral researcher in 2019.
His research interests are in theoretical high energy physics. His research activities over the last few years have been multi-fold. They consist of the following major ingredients: (a) neutrino physics, (b) Higgs physics, (c) collider physics, (d) flavor physics, and (e) dark matter. The emphasis is both on model building and the implications of the new physics for ongoing and future experiments. Recently, he has been investigating theoretical and phenomenological aspects of neutrino physics, especially the theory of neutrino masses, model building, electromagnetic properties of the neutrino, neutrino interactions, CP violation in the neutrino sector, sterile neutrinos, as well as on the implications of the new physics associated with neutrinos following the empirical clues and maximizing our chances of finding them within the foreseeable future at multiple fundamental frontiers, including the energy, intensity, cosmic, precision and lifetime frontiers.
